Scotland A–Z Navigation

Once again we are testing your navigation knowledge with another A-Z road challenge - this time we go north to Scotland! The same rules as previous rounds apply, given cardinal directions, road names and a couple of major landmarks, all you have to do is correctly identify where you end up. As with our previous round, we have once again expanded to include towns and cities in this test, hopefully, all recognisable names to those who spend time tootling around the northern realms but a nice challenge to those of us who visit infrequently - best of luck!
You start from the pinnacle of the NC500 and a draw to many a tourist - John o'Groats. Heading west along the A836, this road will take you all the way to your destination, but you will be following it for 19 miles travelling through many small hamlets and villages such as Huna, Kirkstyle, Mey and Corsback before passing through one major settlement, Castletown. You will need to cross a river via the A9 to enter the town proper, which shares the town's name - where are you?
Departing from the southern edge of Loch Ness at Fort Augustus, head North-East along the A82, following the shoreline of Loch Ness as far as you can go, snaking through villages like Lewiston before following the River Ness all the way to your final destination, 32 miles later - where are you?
While not (currently) in Scotland, your start point has historically switched sides of the border many times it gets an honorary mention - you are in Berwick-upon-Tweed. You will begin by heading north on the A1, but the road will curve westward as you travel. Another straightforward route, as the A1 will take you all the way there some 50 miles later, bypassing the likes of Ayton, Eyemouth, Cockburnspath, Dunbar, East Linton and Haddington en route - where are you?
Back to another short hop, once again departing from Edinburgh heading westward on the M8 - you will need to follow the motorway for 40 miles, all the way to junction 19 to depart right in the center of your destination - where are you?
Departing from Fort Augustus, you will once again head north-east along the A82, but this time you will cut west after about 6 miles of following Loch Ness, joining the A887. 15 miles later, following the River Moriston along the A887, you will join the A87 - this route will take you 36 miles, past Loch Cluanie and Duich before arriving at the bridge to your destination island - where are you?
Departing from the northern edge of Stirling, the M9 will almost immediately become the A9 and turn more north-east. Your route follows the A9 all the way to its connection with the M90 28 miles later where you will arrive on the west side of your destination - where are you?
Leaving Dundee due north on the A90 sees you curving gradually eastwards around Forfar towards the coast, before once again cutting back north around Stonehaven. You could depart eastbound on the A956 to arrive at the southern side of your destination, instead, you stay on the A90 for a total of 66 miles, before cutting down the A96 briefly to arrive east of your destination - where are you?
You leave once again from the capital, heading west but this time along the A90/A9000 for 7 miles, crossing the Forth of Firth before joining the M90 northbound at junction 18. It is a quick 5-mile hop to junction 3, where you depart westbound on the A907/Halbeath Road to arrive shortly are your destination - where are you?
Starting from the Scottish Borders town of Galashiels you are going northbound on the A7 for around 26 miles before arriving at your destination - snaking through towns and villages including Stow, North Middleton, Newtongrange and Bonnyrigg, but where are you?
